My daily life

The reading week is over and lectures started again as usual.

I'm getting busier because most of the classes I take have essay or group project Oral exams or presentation. The deadline of the essay on Irish politics is coming closer so I have to finish it.

I got one Chinese class and one English class today. In Chinese class, I realized that how much I've been relying on the Chinese character when we read the Chinese sentence. The teacher rarely writes Chinese character, she usually use ping ying character so it's weird for me. but it's good practice for pronunciation.

By the way, yesterday I was reading a newspaper and found one interesting article. It was about you tube awards. There are lots of creative short movies. The power pop band OK Go won MOst creative movie for Here it goes again.
I was amazed by the video.

There are some another videos which won awards so If you have not checked yet, you should check it.

Reading weak

This week is reading week(the period for students to prepare or review for the lesson) so we don't have any lectures this week. However, I have to read some books to write essays.

Some of my friends are travelling around Europe. I shall do that someday.

Today one of my japanese friend cooked sushi and okonomiyaki for foreign dtudents so I helped her. I did not expected that I can eat okonomiyaki in Ireland. At first, we couldn't do well but it worked finally. Most of them seemed to prefer okonomiyaki than sushi.

After that, I went to city center to have an interview for a job at Japanese restaurant. I was nervous. The managaer was Japanese so interview was proceeded in Jaoanese. Finally I got a job but not employed officially at a moment. After two weeks trial, she will decide whether to employ me

or

fire me∑(・д・)

I don't wanna be fired...

At first, I have to memorize all the menu and the number of the tables. It's the same everywhere. but most of the menu are typical japanese food so I can do this, maybe...

St. Patrick's day

March 17th was St. Patricks day, the biggest festival in Ireland and some events were held in the city center. I went to see a big parede with my friends.

St.Patrick's day

St.Patrick's day

There were lots of people on both sides of street so I couldn't see the prade well. However, the parade consisted of many ehinic groups and men and women of all ages. It was little bit different from my expectation but it was good.

After the parede, we want to the pub of course and listened to the live Irish music. I really enjoyed the day.
On my way home, I met my friends and they asked me to come to the party so I went to the party. I didn't expected that. The party was held in friend's house and there was a big comfortable couch so I was about to fall asleep.

but we talked a lot and went home 2a.m. That was my St. Patrick's day.

Tonight, there is a fireworks display in the city center so I'm looking forward to it only a little.
so see you soon!

いきなり頼まれたで、何いっていいか分からんかったから結局わけわからんこと言ってしまった

しかも、後で見てみたら部屋真っ暗で自分かどうかも分からんし…

まあでも喜んでくれたみたいなので良かった。

Belfast interversities 2007, Day2

On the second day, we did 'lead climbing(climbing using the rope)' and there are some points to flick the rope. If you climb higher, you get high point.

I just started three weeks ago and I've never done 'lead climbing' so I did not climb that day.

But some girls of our club did pretty well and got 1st and 2nd prize(female) and 1st prize(female novice). I felt that I need practice a lot.

On our way home, we were with the students from Limlick(maybe 4 hours from Dublin) and I was surprized that it takes 6 hours for them to go back to Limlick from belfast. Also I saw the large large green field on my way home from Belfast. It looked prerry peaceful. That was the very image of Ireland.

----------------------------------------------------------

It was so exiciting weekend and I found that there are lots of accent in Ireland though Ireland is a small country. People are nice. I wanna visit belfast again. I really enjoyed this weekend. Thank you:)

Belfast Interversities 2007, Day1

I just came back from Belfast.

It was so exiting weekend. 8people(including me) went to Belfast on Friday night to join the competition. It was two and quarter hour drive.
At fisrt I was little bit afraid but Belfast was more bright, lively and beautiful city than I thought.

From the busstop we walked to the hostel with stone trophy of 35kg because we DCU had to give the last year's trophy back. It was so heavy and on the way to the hostel, people looked us
very often. They might think us of strange people.

----------------------------------------------------

Day1

the interversities started.
We had to do bordering(climbing without harness and rope)

like this
Belfast Interversities day1

there are 12 courses and varied from easy one and difficult one.
I tried as many times as possible but I'm only a novice so it was hard for me to clear all the course.

we finished climbing eariler so we decided to go sightseeing.

we walked around city center but it's different from Ireland. It's like British, especially buildings and the taxi. But I found both Irish flags and union jack.
I was also surprized that shop close very early. most of the shop close by 6 p.m. except some food restaurants and pubs.

After the sightseeing, we went to the party and there are lots of student from Cork, Limlick, Belfast and another city of Ireland. The accent of English is different from region so it's interesting for me.

It was so exiting Saturday! Continued.
